It's called the Information Commons and is in the same space as the library, but don't panic - library staff are not responsible for it. That's IT Services job.

There is also a mezzanine floor which is where the photo is taken from. The building is only 18 months old. The library went from 3000m2 in its previous building, to 1000m2 in the new building. Over 40% of the collection had to be weeded - ouch!

Who was responsible for the 'information' in the Information Commons? - Did the library have an online presence beyond the normal catalogue and traditional lirary services?
ReplyDeleteNot sure why it is called the "Information Commons" but it is run by Wintec's IT support services so may the 'information comes from 'information technology. The whole building in called the "Gallagher Hub".
